The firm is committed to training new associates through in-house training seminars, hands on experience, and continuing legal education programs.

Litigation lawyers meet weekly for training and information-sharing sessions.

Business Services lawyers meet regularly in one or more of the following smaller groups, depending upon their interests and areas of practice:

  • Business organizations and securities
  • Environmental and land use law
  • Tax and employee benefits
  • Financial services
  • Trusts and estates

Labor and employment lawyers meet periodically to discuss recent developments in the law.  They also regularly share ideas and strategies on cases on which they are working.

The firm encourages associates to attend pre-approved continuing legal education seminars and other programs both within and outside Connecticut at the firm's expense.

In addition to these structured aspects of training, the element of associate training of which Tyler Cooper is particularly proud is the accessibility of its senior lawyers to act as mentors to junior lawyers.
